Composers Pauls Dambis (b. 1936), Romualds Kalsons (1936–2024), and Jānis Ivanovs (1906–1983) belong to the pantheon of Latvian musical classics—authors whose works form an essential part of the canon of Latvian professional music. In 2026, the 120th anniversary of Jānis Ivanovs’ birth is being celebrated, alongside the 90th anniversaries of Pauls Dambis and Romualds Kalsons. This concert programme offers an insight into the musical worlds of these three distinctive composers, with particular emphasis on their chamber and organ music.
